SNAP-8

Scalp Tension Peptide

Relax chronic scalp tension that strangles follicles

Overview

SNAP-8 is an octapeptide analogue of SNAP-25, a protein in the SNARE complex involved in neurotransmitter release. Used cosmetically for its relaxing effect on muscle contraction, it has emerging applications in scalp tension — a clinically recognized contributor to vertex hair loss in men. Chronic galea contraction restricts blood flow to the scalp.

Mechanism of Action

Competes with SNAP-25 for a position in the SNARE complex, attenuating the release of catecholamines that drive sustained muscle contraction. In the scalp context, this reduces tension-mediated vasoconstriction and ischemia over the vertex.

Pathway

SNARE complex inhibition → reduced catecholamine release

Key Benefits

Reduces scalp tension and galea tightness
Improves blood perfusion to the vertex
Complementary to massage and dermarolling protocols
Unique mechanism not addressed by any other peptide
