Follistatin 344

FST-344

Block the signals that suppress follicle growth

Overview

Follistatin 344 is a glycoprotein that works primarily by binding and neutralizing myostatin and activin — TGF-β family members that suppress follicle cycling. Elevated scalp TGF-β is a known mechanism in androgenetic alopecia. Follistatin removes this brake, allowing follicles to re-enter anagen.

Mechanism of Action

High-affinity binding and neutralization of activin, myostatin, and BMP-4. In follicle biology, TGF-β drives catagen entry and inhibits dermal papilla survival. Blocking these signals via follistatin prolongs anagen and may rescue follicles in DHT-driven miniaturization.
